INDUSTRY UPDATE | Strengthening Maritime Leadership and Partnership

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) welcomed the new set of officers and board members of the Joint Manning Group (JMG) and the Filipino Association for Mariners’ Employment, Inc. (FAME) during a courtesy visit held at the DMW Central Office in Mandaluyong City on February 10, 2026.
The visit marked the official induction of the newly elected leaders for the 2026–2027 term, led by DMW Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac. The engagement reaffirmed the strong partnership between DMW and key maritime organizations in continuously promoting and protecting the rights and welfare of Filipino seafarers.
We are proud to share that IOTC Chairman Emeritus, Capt. Emmanuel L. Regio, has been appointed as one of the officers, further strengthening IOTC’s commitment and active participation in advancing the interests of our Filipino maritime workforce.
This milestone reflects a united effort among industry leaders to support President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to enhance labor protection, strengthen public-private collaboration, and ensure responsive governance for our modern-day heroes at sea.
⚓ Together, we move forward for the welfare and future of Filipino seafarers.
